Berlin: ‘Seven Pounds’ Helmer Gabriele Muccino to Direct ‘Expiration’
Adrien Brody will star in the thriller about a former CIA agent who sets out to uncover who poisoned him.
Gabriele Muccino, who previously directed The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds, will helm the action thriller Expiration, which will star Adrien Brody.
Brian Tucker wrote the script for Expiration, which stars Brody as a former CIA agent who attempts to complete one last job but instead finds himself poisoned in a hospital bed. With only one day left to live, he sets out to uncover who his murderer is and see the woman he loves one final time.
Brody will co-produce Expiration through his Fable House production banner, and Paul Breuls will produce through Corsan.
Corsan World Sales is handling international sales in Berlin while Paradigm is repping domestic rights. Expiration also will shoot in Berlin with plans to begin in June.
“Adrien Brody and Gabriele Muccino are two of the most talented people working in film today, and all of us at Corsan are eager to work with these world-class talents who are so dedicated to quality and creative innovation,” said Breuls.
Along with the Will Smith-starring films The Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds, Muccino directed 2012’s Playing for Keeps, starring Gerard Butler and 2015’s Fathers and Daughters, starring Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried. He’s on post on the film Summertime and is in talks to direct an adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov’s erotic thriller Laughter in the Dark. He’s repped by Paradigm and Loeb & Loeb.
